MEDES Closing Event and future perspectives

SACILE. 29 – 31 May 2018. The MEDES Week, that started on the 29th of May, closed yesterday with huge success. All the partners took part in the events organized under the direction of the Municipality of Sacile and Municipality of Villareal, MEDES project leader. During the events, it was possible to show the great results obtained from the project which developed an innovative methodology of Mediation, conflict resolution and prevention of bullying and early school leaving phenomena. Satisfaction and enthusiasm were expressed by the two partner schools, Balliana Nievo School of Sacile and IES Miralcamp. Indeed, the 3-day closing event coincided with the exchange week of the Spanish students in Italy.

The Balliana-Nievo School flies to SPAIN!

Great enthusiasm among the students of Balliana-Nievo School who travelled from Italy to Spain for the first exchange within the MEDES project.

From the 20th to the 27th of March 2018, IES MIRALCAMP in Villareal is going to host a group of 10 students from Sacile accompanied by the two professors, Alessandro Fabbroni and Elena Camilotti, and Sara Dall’Armellina who has been responsible for all the training activities. The exchange will focus on school mediation as a conflict prevention and resolution methodology. The key activities of MEDES are being developed by the Municipality of Villareal (lead partner) together with the Municipality of Sacile, Itaca, El Porc Espì Association and the schools involved (IES MIRALCAMP from Villareal and Balliana Nievo from Sacile).

Cultural effects of migration

“Cultural effects of migration” was the Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Project – Youth Exchange aiming to raise awareness on migration issues and create space for open dialogue, inter-cultural understanding, mutual respect and acceptance of diversity between young people in our countries.

We aimed to empower European youth, by enabling them to raise their cultural awarenesses through a mix of methods of Non-formal learning and using different tools for learning and sharing information.

This Youth Exchange provided space and time to our participants to share their life stories and experiences to enhance their mutual understanding, better inter cultural communications, networking, and friendship.

Project objectives were:

  • To learn about problems resulting from mass emigration;
  • To identify best practice in integration and inclusion of migrants, particularly with reference to East-West migrants;
  • To share examples of successful integration projects for young migrants implemented in EU countries;
  • To address negative portrayal of migrants and migration in media and public opinion;
  • To develop future projects for young migrants using Erasmus+ Programme opportunities.
