In Las Palmas with Free to Choose

As the testing of the board game runs in all Partner Countries, the Free to Choose Team is in Las Palmas for the 5th transnational meeting.

On wednesday Free to Choose will be presented to the Public and in the afternoon a gaming session will take place with local students.

“Free to choose: professions without gender stereotypes” is the title of the public dissemination event scheduled for December 12 from 9 to 16.30 at the Salón de Actos in the Building of Múltiples II in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). Organized by the Spanish partners of Opcionate, it is part of the penultimate transnational meeting (11-12 December) of the European project Free to Choose, led by the Social Cooperative Itaca and co-financed by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship program of the European Union, which aims to promote a cultural and behavioral change in young people 16-29 years and key adults involved in the transition and orientation from secondary school to higher education or the labor market, leading to a different view of professions and job opportunities.

Free to Choose Partners are: Cooperativa sociale Itaca (Lead Partner), Regione Fvg – Assessorato al Lavoro, Istruzione, Politiche giovanili e Pari opportunità, Ires Fvg, Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia in Italy,  Mcbit and Nefiks (Slovenia), Opciònate and Universitat de Valencia (Spain), Apload (Portugal) and Mediterranean Institute for Gender Studies MIGS (Cyprus).

CTRL+ALT+ENTERPRISE Final Info Day

13 June 2018 – Pordenone

Supporting self-employment and entrepreneurship for disadvantaged people when local public and private bodies act in close cooperation proved to be possible. This was the focus of the Final Info Day of the Ctrl+Alt+Enterprise that took place at the Council Chamber of the former Province of Pordenone in Largo San Giorgio 12, at 9am.

Towards the CTRL+ALT+ENTERPRISE Final Event

ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ (Portugal). 12 – 13 April 2018. – The 6th Ctrl+Alt+Enterprise transnational meeting was hosted by Epralima Escola in Arcos de Valdevez on the 12th and 13th of April 2018 (Portugal). During the 2-days session, partners’ representatives from Italy, Slovenia, Greece and Portugal worked together on planning the final event that will take place in June in Pordenone and will be the occasion to present the five project outputs.

Opening of “Community Bike”

15 December 2017 – Sacile

The “Community Bike” shop for bikes sale and repair officially opened in Sacile. Ivan Bellina, owner of the shop, thanked the local authorities involved in the European project Ctrl+Alt+EnterPrise, the Well Fare Foundation, Coop Noncello, the Municipality of Sacile and Friuladria Crédit Agricole which made his dream come true. The press conference was held today in the Ballatoio Room at Palazzo Ragazzoni at 11 am.

INSIDE – Social Inclusion for Employability

An estimated 9 million Syrians have fled their homes since the outbreak of civil war in March 2011, taking refuge in neighbouring countries or within Syria itself. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), about 2.5 million have fled to Syria’s immediate neighbours Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. 6.5 million are internally displaced within Syria. Meanwhile, under 100,000 have declared asylum in Europe with a small number offered resettlement by countries such as Germany and Sweden. Therefore, a lot of migrants face to a greater concern of unemployment by the reason of social exclusion.

Understanding that nowadays issues leads to growing needs of youth workers to improve and implement intercultural skills in work with migrants as well as to promote their active participation and social inclusion. New innovative and creative approaches can really have better impact on this, especially to improve the employability skills.

Addressing to a group of youth workers and civil society activists who often face the challenge working with migrants, this training course aimed at fostering their intercultural skills and competences. At the same time TC promoted new innovative ways of increasing employability among migrants through the social inclusion and inter-cultural dialogue. Furthermore this TC provided new tools to improve the work with migrant communities, particularly in the field of social inclusion and intercultural communication.

5th Transnational Meeting

21-22 September 2017 – Thessaloniki

The work carried out in the recent months by all the partners involved in the European project “Ctrl+Alt+Enterprise”, aimed at the self-entrepreneurship of disabled, disadvantaged and vulnerable people, is proving to be extremely valuable. During the 5th transnational meeting – which took place on the 21st  and 22nd  of September in Thessaloniki (Greece) at Anatoliki SA – the starting up of two new companies was announced: the first one in Greece will have the entrepreneurial form of social cooperative, the second one will be located in Friuli Venezia Giulia. For these two new realities, the process of accompaniment and tutoring will be crucial.
